Where to Get Your Moving Supplies
Posted under UncategorizedBefore you can start packing for your move you have to gather the right supplies. Basically, you need boxes; lots and lots of boxes, of several different sizes. You need tape, and you need paper or bubble wrap to protect breakables. Other supplies include heavy duty plastic wrap and protective blankets.
You have several options in the way of boxes. You can collect them from friends or pick them up at the back of stores. Many people do this because it’s free, but it does have its drawbacks. You may have trouble finding enough boxes, or boxes of the right sizes. Box size matters more than you may think. If you pack heavy items, like books or dishes, in a large box, then you’ll end up with a box so heavy that no one can carry it. On the other hand, you might not be able to find any boxes large enough for some of your items, like lamps. Store boxes tend to have particular shapes and sizes that aren’t convenient for packing, and they may not be strong enough to hold what you need.
Packing supply stores provide all you possibly need. Their boxes are strong and appropriately sized. They also sell boxes designed for particular uses, such as picture frame boxes or hanger boxes with built-in rods for your hanging clothes. They sell the best acid-free packing paper which won’t harm your dishes, like newspaper can. If you can afford it then this is definitely the way the go.
Your third option is to hire a professional removal company and get your packing supplies from them. Usually they will provide them at a discounted price, and you may even be able to get boxes for free, provided you return them. For many people, this last option is the best.
